So as this is Vegan Day, let’s be fair and think how this must be playing out for many beloved farm animals. Especially if they’ve been brought up in a loving environment and yet still given a kiss goodbye to be sent to the “Humane” slaughter! Geez, poor confused creatures with all that petting and friendly gestures and yet with no “Live and let live” compassion at the end of it! I’m not religious, but if you are then please check out these various religion’s texts (placed in alphabetical order) on the subject:
- Christian text from the bible: “Thou shalt NOT kill” ~ Exodus 20:13
- Islamic quote from the Koran: “The Prophet(s) was asked if acts of charity even to the animals were rewarded by God. He replied: ‘yes, there is a reward for acts of charity to every beast alive.’ ”~ Narrated by Abu Huraira, Bukhari, 3:322
- Sikh quote: “Do not cause pain to any creature, Go back to your Home with honour.” Sri Guru Granth Sahib, page 322
Okay so I’ve only put 3 religions up on the list, but you know if you check out t’Internet you will find no compassionate “god” worth it’s salt will want you to be a murderer of another sentient being. I’m just saying, that if only animals could get on with their lives, as we get on with ours! So anyways, you read it here in this non-religious book blog to just get on with minding your own business and to personify a good and honourable and if you wish to call it holy so be it, but a “Live and let live!” compassionate life.
