Retelling of stories can add or take away from their meaning and the original reason for telling. It goes that way with religious stories just the same. I mean I’ve seen how several authors have taken a classic tale and made it their own, some as kids stories and even with pop up books. The one such classics that come to mind is that of The Endangered Wide Mouth Frog.
