Have you checked all the stuff in your First Aid box lately? I did a little while ago and found a few things well out of date. Well, they’re not going to work well in an emergency or kill pain effectively if we get a steaming headache are they? So, if you haven’t done it lately, I suggest you do it soon and hand in the out of date stuff to the chemist/pharmacy.

As for what you need in a First Aid box, that seems to vary according to who makes the list. I mean, I think you always have to cover the basics of: Alcohol-free cleansing wipes, assorted fun looking plasters, a few bigger dressings, a few strong Steri-Strips, bandages, an eyebath, tweezers, antiseptic cream, a thermometer, painkillers e.g. paracetamol (suitable for the people who live in the house and their ages), antacids, insect bite and sting stuff, any sort of jollop for a sore throat, a few small sugar portions, a small plastic cup, condoms, a list of important phone numbers, notes on family members med history and meds they’re on and some small soft toy to distract any small kid in the house.

Ok, the condoms are your way of checking to see who really read this, right? π

I believe it is an essential, medical emergency supply in some homes.

In some homes I guess I could see that being necessary. π
