This image is of a pretty self seeded plant. There’s quite a few dotted hither and thither around the garden in pots. I had them growing in the edge of the polytunnel. To be honest though, I’ve no idea what this flower is called. Do you know the name of this plant? If you do, then please share and put the name in the comments below. If you don’t know it (like myself) “No matter”, but that now I feel the need to quote a bit of William Shakespeare at you: “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose, By any other name would smell as sweet.”

You know what, thinking of roses, I just remember the first time I saw a purple rose in a show. I was so taken by it. It had been named: Blue Moon.

I have to admit, there are so many beautiful roses. Mother had a huge yellow climbing rose she’d let grow as a stand alone. It was called: Golden Showers.

Heads up though: The best type to grow for nature and pollinators, are the open types like this next one: in the image below. As you can see, the bees can actually get to the pollen and nectar inside the centre of the petals.

Note: I’ve made these posts have a tag of Plant photo if you wish to find the others in the future.
Google images thinks it is: Cuphea lanceolata, also known as the cigar flower, is an annual herbaceous flowering plant
