So, for some reason the fridge had gone right bonkers cold. I’ve turned it down last night, but now the temperature says eight degrees, so I think I might turn it up a tad again. Still, in the meantime it’s only blinkin well turned a perfectly good aubergine rock solid into an “Oh bar shine”. It’s now only fit for the compost.

Yer know what though, I can easily understand some aubergines being called eggplant. For there are some that ain’t so deep burgundy, but white, and some actually look like eggs. Maybe this one in the image below is half and half.

Talking of half and half, that’s quite a Wales thing to order half rice and half chips with a meal like a curry or chilli. Is it the same where you live?
I have tried growing aubergines myself. So far it has been a total flop. I think one year, it was my exams that took my mind off the goal and I wandered into being focused (something I am rarely guilty of these days). I tend to see so much around me and try to take it all in, not miss out on the bird perched on the branch, the cloud shape, the breeze on my face… Sometimes I’m asked “Are you listening?” and truth be told would be “Yes, but maybe I also hear so many more things and have so many thoughts that they’re distracting me”.

Aubergines are like peppers and chillis. I have tried them every year since Iβve lived here. One year maybe they will work.

You and I alike must be doing something wrong π but that it surely balances out all the things we are doing right.
